Well no not really the season hasn't started yet but this is all in relation to the NATS supposed interest in Ronnie Belliard. I think this which is being couched in a (bench role/backup for Zimmerman / Guzman / Lopez) is a big cross your fingers by the organization and the admission that they need a plan should Guzman revert to his 2005 numbers. For reference Belliard's stats for the last three years avg out to .280 14 HR 72 rbi and about a .325 OBA all of which are better then Guzman's. So if there is actually any interest please go ahead and sign him. Belliard is a little older, 3 years, but his production has been on the rise and he has playoff experience. We'll know fairly early next week (assuming Belliard doesn't sign somewhere else) as to the health and skills of Guzman because if he is not good then Bowden will make a push for Belliard.
